Surgery
If surgery is recommended for your pet, a pre-surgical exam and blood tests to assess the animal's worthiness to receive general anesthesia and undergo the procedure will be ordered by the doctor.
You can expect the same monitoring during your cat's or dog's surgical procedure as you would from your own surgeon: pulse oximetry, blood pressure tracking and fluid therapy are standards of care. Only the safest anesthetics are administered.
Our state-of-the-art facilities include a fully outfitted surgical suite for soft tissue, elective and emergency services. Your doctor prides herself on providing the highest standards of care and is trained and experienced in performing surgical procedures.
Some of these surgical procedures are:
- abdominal and exploratory
- biopsies
- neuters (males)
- spays (females)
- tumor excisions
- removal of foreign materials causing intestinal obstruction
Post-operative care includes appropriate pain management and lots of TLC.
We recognize that your pet is a beloved family member and that surgery and separation are potentially stressful experiences for you and your family. Our compassionate, sensitive, animal-friendly team will cater to your dog's or cat's comfort and care until discharge.
Separate canine and feline wards are climate-controlled, with soft bedding provided. All of us are committed to meeting our patients' medical needs and our clients' expectations.
