Surgical check-in consultation with your pet's nurse - provides you peace of mind when you meet your pet's surgical nurse and she reviews your pet's medical plan and answers any questions you may have.

Direct hotline to your pet's nurse - reduces your stress because you can call her and receive instant updates about your pet throughout the day.
Veterinary pre-surgical physical exam - your pet can't tell you if he feels bad on the day of his surgery. The exam ensures he is not running a fever and is in good physical condition.
Pre-surgical labwork - your pet may look healthy physically, but we need labwork to tell us how your pet's body is functioning internally. It can tell us if there is infection, anemia or any abnormal organ functions that cannot process anesthesia correctly. Pre-surgical antibiotic injection and pain injection- controls pain and infection from the beginning.
IV catheter and IV fluids - ensures we have access to your pet's vital organs and ensures blood pressure stays high enough to provide sufficient blood supply to vital organs as well as prevent dehydration.
Anesthesia - we use a combination of IV anesthesia that allows us to reverse your pet's anesthesia instantly and Sevoflo gas anesthesia, which they use in the human medical field. It is a short acting inhalant anesthesia that is processed through the body within seconds, making for a faster and safer recovery for your pet.
Surgical monitoring - including respiration rates, pulse oxygen levels, blood pressure, body temperature, ekg and heart rate. With these monitors, we can ensure vital organs are receiving good blood flow and oxygen, the heart is beating correctly and your pet is not too hot, too cold or feeling pain.
Private recovery suite - who wouldn't want a private, quiet area with warm, soft bedding to sleep in after surgery? We believe our suites are the first step to a healthy recovery.
Post-operative nursing care - our nurses skillfully monitor your pet for any signs of post-operative complications and maintain a clean and comfortable recovery.

Post-surgical telephone consultation by your pet's surgeon - we know you worry about your pet and we want you to have a good experience. Your pet's surgeon will call you after surgery to discuss your pet's surgical procedure, recovery and post-operative instructions.
Post-surgical discharge consultation with your pet's nurse - eliminates confusion because she will explain post-operative care instructions, medications and answer any concerns you may have.
After hour direct hotline access to your pet's nurse - going home with your pet after surgery can be frightening. We eliminate your fears because your pet's nurse is just a phone call away, even after we close.
Suture removal procedure - when your pet has healed a nurse will remove the sutures and a doctor will ensure it has healed properly.

Your Pet's Surgeon

Take comfort in knowing your pet's caring and compassionate surgeons, Dr. Merrill and Dr. Kitz, perform high standard surgical care. Dr. Merrill, Medical Director, earned her B.S. in Biomedical Science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University. She has 12 years of veterinary surgical experience and has been recognized by the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice, every year since 2003, for attending more than 2.5 times the required continuing education to maintain a high veterinary medical and surgical standard. Dr. Kitz earned her B.S. in Biochemistry from Cornell University and her Veterinary Medical Doctor degree from The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She has 9 years of veterinary surgical experience and 2 years of emergency veterinary surgical and medical care.

Your Pet's Personal Nurse

You will have peace of mind knowing your pet's surgical nurse is an experienced and skilled veterinary technician who will be caring for your pet throughout the day. She will meet with you at check-in and will review your pet's personalized surgical plan and estimate. She will explain the details of your pet's surgical experience, answer questions and invite you to tour your pet's operating room and recovery suite. You will be provided with her direct phone number to her cellular that will allow you to call and check in on your pet anytime during the day, even after hours when the clinic is closed. During discharge, your pe's nurse will provide you with detailed after care instructions and explain any medications that your pet's veterinarian has sent home.

We believe our clients should be rewarded for providing excellent medical care for their puppies and kittens; therefore, with each puppy/kitten vaccination performed by one of our veterinarians, we give you $25.00 to use towards their spay and neuter surgery performed by us.
